To cheer myself up, here's my top favourite bit of cycling "infrastructure" in East London. Perfect for toddlers.

Cycle lane heaven (in Walthamstow) A surprisingly useful network of cycle lanes which made negotiating the North Circular/Chingford Road (A406/A112) junction a breeze.

Council listened to request and provided decent cycle parking

Cycle parking on Argall Way. Well intended but in a spot wqhere it's not needed. Plus the racks are so close together you can't lock two bikes opposite each other securely.

This is cycle parking provided as an alternative to the two meagre racks outside Sainsbury. Clearly it is still not enough, the racks are too close to the wall making secure locking difficult and the location is 'out of sight', so not very ... [more]

This is the cycle parking provision for the Sainsbury store that offers 250(!) car parking spaces. Two racks too close to each other and too close to the wall, allowing for a maximum of three bikes and preventing secure locking.

This is where years ago Waltham Forest council has removed cycle parking during High Street refurbishing works. Numerous complaints by Waltham Forest Cycling Campaign have fallen on deaf ears, so a tree will have to do.

Warning: Unusually low bridge (Only 5ft).
