While most sensible places are getting rid of city centre car parking MK is throwing in the towel and building this 1,000 space multi-storey car storage and congestion generator.

It's hard to see in this photo but in the distance there are many pedestrian barriers used as chicanes to deter cycling on this former bike route into CMK.

For comments about the blue sign see #47932.

A familiar situation with cycle lockers - no one looks after them properly and eventually they can't remember who has what locker or how to get hold of them, hence these shabby notices.

  • Icon 101670 At the moment there are no bike stands at Shorrolds Road and many residents have to chain their bikes to street signs, which is not the safest solution. My bike got stolen recently with all the locks by damaging and removing the top of the street sign, and sliding the bike up through the pole of the street sign. I am planning to buy a new bike now, but I can't afford keeping it at home overnight and most secure parking locations are further away (most insurers require that a bike is not left unattended for more than 12h). A secure bike shelter on our street or nearby would be the best solution, but we would be grateful for anything better than street signs. Thank you.
  • Icon 101669 Just moving in here, no where to store bikes. Many bikes attached to lampposts in the street, several have clearly had parts stolen from them. Really desperate to find a solution for myself and my housemate (and many other people on the street). The nearest secure stand is full and over 10 minutes walk away
